Change of perspective

I photographed a little girl today. She has a bad heart and is going in for surgery in a few days- the doctor says her chances aren't good. Not my normal subject matter, but it's nice to discover that a subject can still move me. I have become very attached to the process and final product in my work, but detached from the subject- from the emotion of the moment.
